WHAT IS THE MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 450?
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 is a four-door plus hatchback mid-sized sport utility vehicle built in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, capable of carrying five- or optionally seven-passengers. Its engine choices start with a 3.0L inline-6 turbo with mild hybrid drive engine making 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It's standard with 4Matic-equipped all-wheel-drive vehicle.
The other offering is the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e, powered by a 2.0L inline-4 turbo with Plug-In Hybrid technology engine producing 381 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. It's a mild-hybrid model that features an EQ boost delivering an extra 21 horsepower when applied.
The base suspension is based on a steel-spring and damper suspension system. Optionally, there is the available AIRMATIC suspension, which varies the ride according to sensors that read the road surface hundreds of times a second. But that's not all. Mercedes-Benz ups the ante even more with its new E-Active Body Control, which adjusts the wheel's springs and dampers. Customizable for every situation you may encounter, it can even bounce the vehicle if it gets stuck in sand. The E-ABC also does its part to eliminate body roll while going through the sweepers.
Not all that's new is tech-based. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE is complete with a longer wheelbase to provide improved second-row legroom and additional space for an available third-row bench seat.
